We mentioned in a couple posts ago that we would give an update on the U.S. Patent Office set up here in Silicon Valley.  As of right now, the U.S Patent Office in Silicon Valley is in a temporary office in Menlo Park at the Menlo Park Science Center.  There have been many bids by companies in Menlo Park and surrounding cities who are interested in housing the office. However due to budget constraints, the effort to find a permanent place for the Silicon Valley office has been delayed. The temporary Silicon Valley office will continue to house Patent Trial and Appeal Board Judges, who help reduce the board’s inventory of appeal cases and American Invents Act (AIA) trials.  Which in turn decreases the cost-prohibitive court appearances and resolves disputes in a timely manner.  The Director of the Silicon Valley Office, Michelle Lee has also had the office participate in building relationships with local innovators, officials, industries, IP bar associations, incubators, VC’s and universities.  The office will also be hosting local training programs on different proceedings and topics. For more information, click here.Innovate Product Design is located in San Francisco, CA about an hour North from the Silicon Valley.
